The machine

  • The hardware. NVIDIA B300, eight GPUs per node, 288GB of HBM3e per GPU and 2.1TB of GPU memory per server.
  • Built to your spec. NVLink at 1.8 TB/s and 800G networking, configured to your architecture and storage profile before it goes in the rack.
  • Bare metal. No hypervisor and no shared tenancy. You get root access and run what you want.

The term

  • Yours for the term. Nodes are allocated to you for the whole term. They are not pooled or shared, and they do not get reassigned when a larger customer turns up.
  • No limits on use. The node is yours around the clock, with no preemption, no burst limit and no penalty for running it at full utilisation.
  • About five weeks. That is the time from signature to a cluster you can log into, built to your configuration.

The place

  • Vancouver, Tier III. High density power and cooling, network presence in the downtown carrier hotel, and onramps to the major clouds.
  • Hydroelectric power. About 90 percent of British Columbia's electricity is hydroelectric, so your cluster runs on a clean grid that is already there.
  • Open across North America. Around five milliseconds across Metro Vancouver. We serve customers on both sides of the border.

Freyr is an NVIDIA Preferred Partner with a direct allocation of Blackwell hardware. The servers in our Vancouver racks come from NVIDIA rather than a broker or a resold contract, so we can give you a delivery date.

The structure

On demand or under contract.

Spin up, spin down, pay for what you use. That is the right answer for a workload that runs occasionally. If yours runs continuously, the two are worth comparing.

The machine is yours for the whole term and cannot be reassigned.
Capacity you had last quarter may not be there next quarter.
Racked, powered and allocated to you before the term starts.
Performance depends on who else is on the box.
Nothing else runs on it, so it performs the same in year three as on day one.
Repriced against a market that moved 57 percent in nine months.
A fixed term and a fixed price you can put in a budget.

It is a bigger commitment than clicking a button. It also turns your compute cost into a fixed line in the budget rather than a moving one.

The constraint

In British Columbia, power is the constraint.

Across North America, AI capacity gets announced in gigawatts and delivered years later. British Columbia has far less room than that.

Where it runs

Vancouver, Tier III, on hydroelectric power.

Freyr's compute runs in eStruxture's VAN-2 and VAN-3 facilities, with high density power and cooling built for AI workloads. Network presence at Cologix in downtown Vancouver puts us in the Harbour Centre carrier hotel with direct access to the Vancouver Internet Exchange and onramps to AWS, Azure and Google Cloud.

British Columbia's grid is hydroelectric, so the power behind your cluster is renewable without building a generation project for it. Latency across the Greater Vancouver region runs around 5 milliseconds. For teams with existing infrastructure in a hyperscaler region, the cloud onramps mean a hybrid architecture works without replumbing your network.

Data processed on Freyr hardware stays in the facility you contracted.

Freyr operates in four countries.

Freyr builds and operates AI infrastructure in Canada, the United States, Thailand and Indonesia. Vancouver is the North American arm, with its own entity, its own contracts and a team on the ground.

The group builds sovereign compute. In Southeast Asia that means putting NVIDIA infrastructure inside the country using it, so national AI work runs on domestic soil under domestic rules. Vancouver does the same thing for North America.
